Jordan Jones, PhD

Jordan Jones, PhD is a cellular agriculture scientist and former New Harvest research fellow with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. His expertise spans cultivated meat production, skeletal muscle tissue engineering, and bioreactor development. Currently, as a researcher at Tufts University Center for Cellular Agriculture, Jordan spearheads projects on automating bioreactors for scalable structured meat production and innovating cost-reduction methods for cell cultivation. His work is published in prominent journals and has been featured at key industry conferences.  In the past, Jordan has worked with companies such as AbbVie and Abbott, where he contributed to bioreactor operations and led device efficacy investigations. Aside from his technical expertise, Jordan has been instrumental in the startup ecosystem, contributing to various cultured meat startups. Jordan’s blend of experience allows him to adeptly translate business objectives into actionable research plans, integrating scientific discovery with strategic business initiatives.

Thomas Hinton, PhD

T.J. is an Entrepreneur in Residence and Senior Research Associate at Tufts University Center for Cellular Agriculture (TUCCA), where he leads the development of scale-up technologies for mass production of scaffolding and tissues. 

Richard Thyden, PhD

Richard Thyden, PhD is Cellular Agriculture researcher with a rich experience in both academic research and startup environments. At Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Richard earned his PhD and honed his expertise in satellite cell biology, bioreactor design, and the creation of plant-based scaffolds essential for scaling cultured meat production.

Alex Shirazi

Alex Shirazi is an author, product designer and startup advisor with a background in retail analytics, brand marketing, and user experience design. Alex is the co-founder of Balletic Foods, a fermentation-based alternative protein startup in California. Alex co-organizes the Cultured Meat Symposium and hosts the Cultured Meat and Future Food Show.
